The Vintage Event have partnered with the Balham Partnership and Wandsworth Council to create a Vintage Diamond Jubilee Street Market & Tea Party to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on Sunday 3rd June, 2012.
Curated by The Vintage Event, the Jubilee Special will take place in Hildreth Street Market, Balham, London SW12 from 12 noon to 6pm and will feature a variety of different stalls offering a selection of the very best trend led vintage fashion, accessories and homeware and craft stalls in London. A pop-up vintage beauty parlour from‘Kitty’s Vintage Ltd’ and Jubilee themed cocktails from ‘Harrisons’ will also be available.
‘Swingland’ will be performing swing dancing sessions whilst the stage area hosts a nostalgic mix of live vintage music from acts such as the 40s-esque all girl group ‘The Wayward Sisters’, plus performances from Earl Oake, Katy Carr, Tony Moore and DJ Moonshine Roxy Robinson.
A children’s entertainment area will also be in place in the Balham Community Space, Bedford Hill (just round the corner from Hildreth Street), offering some jolly old fashioned fun with Punch and Judy shows running throughout the afternoon.
The organisers are the faces behind the increasingly popular ‘The Vintage Event’, hosts of regular pop-up vintage events that combine vintage fashion with music and entertainment which have gained a reputation in South London amongst vintage lovers and fashion bloggers South of the River. This special vintage inspired event for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will provide the ideal atmosphere for local residents, businesses and visitors to London.
